Little Ethan Wants to grow up

Ethan is now almost 17 months old.
He wants to grow up. No longer is he interested in those baby toys that he used to play. No longer he is like eating those baby food we used to feed him.

He started showing interested in the everyday things we do and eat. He wants to drink soft drink instead of his milk. He like rice with sauce rather then his porridge. He will not be fooled by playing with a dummy phone.
He is bored with his little baby laptop. He wants to walk on his own, his way. He refused to be pulled along.

Well I guess we have to start treating him as a grown up baby...

Ethan has join the Cyberworld.

Yes...

Ethan has now his own personal email and a facebook account.

Annual Wage Supplement (AWS) or The 13th Month Pay in the Singapore

Annual Wage Component
The Annual Wage Component is made up of the Annual Wage Supplement (AWS) and any other annual bonuses.


AWS is also known as 13th month payment. It is a one-off payment that is supplementary to the total amount of annual wages earned.

An annual bonus is an optional, one-time payment given at the end of the year. It is usually paid to motivate employees who have performed well.

The Government recommends that the Annual Variable Component be 20% of annual wages or 1-3 month's salary.

The Annual Wage Component is not compulsory. You may choose to include AWS and other bonuses in employment contracts negotiated with your employees.

Finally its 2011

Yes ... 2011 is here.
every year, people always ask about our New Year resolution for the next coming year and what we had achieved for the past year.

Its actually always the same for each year ... How many did actually one remember to do and achieve?
Must improve health, must be more hard working, eat less, pend less, must do this must do that, must go there must go here  bla bla bla the list just goes on. The restriction and to do list that we impose on ourselves just mounts every year.

So whats mine ?

Just this important one.
To spend more time with my family. My parents, my brother, my wife and my lovely son Ethan.
I believes that nothing is worth much more then any of them.

Our little day out at Marina Bay Sands

Yes, finally we found time to have a little walk around Marina Bay Sands (MBS).

I can say, the architecture and built out of the property is very impressive. Larges high ceilings with a very modern simplicity look. A touch of class in the modern era. Full glass panels running the length and height of the 3 unique designed hotel towers.

The carpark is very well organized and lay out at the basement of the entire property. Its has multiple guest entrance and exits so that you no need to walk a few hundred miles to reach the exit point or to reach your vehicle. Very well labelled and clearly indicated on the walls of each pillar reminding you where you parked your vehicle.

The "river" with the gondola ride caught my attention. I had the impression that it runs along the stretch of the entire shopping complex. Seriously its funny when you finally see it.

Beside fine dinning which is not really my cup of tea, the do have a food court at the end of the shopping complex where the "helix" bridge meets MBS.

Well the food there is above the average food court price you find outside. But because its a Integrated Resort i find that price justifiable. At least it is much more tastier then those average food court. At least it allows people like you and me to have a alternative dining place with good nice food.

Our Dearest Ethan,

We remember that night a year ago very vividly, when you came knocking at the door in the middle of the night. I guess you were ready to step into this world and move ahead, as you do so powerfully since that day.

It seems like yesterday that we brought you home from the hospital, and now you are our little man.

The kind of love you awakened in us took us by surprise. It’s not more or better than other love, only different. Different from the way daddy and mummy loves each other, different from the way we love our parents, brothers and sister and different from the way we love life. It has enriched our life.

And with that love comes a full range of other emotions. We experienced feelings of helplessness when you were in the light box because of your Jaundice, feelings of despair when you were crying relentlessly in the early months. Feelings of pity when you were in pain. Feelings of insecurity about all the new aspects of life that being a parent brings with it. They too have enriched our life. Since, You had brought us with so much laughter and joy and We are very proud to have you as our son. 

Your being here has also deepened daddy's love for mummy. I can see her love for you and her devotion to be the best mom she can. It fills me with love and warmth to see you two together, playing together and sharing love and fun.

Know that we will be here for you on your path through this thing called life. You can count on us for being there when you need support in all its subtle appearances. A hand to help you when you attempt your first steps, a hand to catch you in case you might fall, attempting another audacious effort at something you don’t master (yet).

Keep on filling the pages of your book in your unique way, we will be reading along and helping you along the way.
